Mentor

The faculty at DECATS are distinguished professional school educators who have noteworthy achievements in their areas of expertise. DECATS Mentors are teachers and educators interested in working with highly motivated, academically talented Scholars in an intense three-week summer program.

  • REQUIRED DATES In addition to other dates and deadlines for curriculum and program needs, which you can read more about in the job description further down, Mentors considered for employment at DECATS are required to be fully present for the entirety of the following dates for DECATS 2018:
    • Summer Program: June 11 - 28
    • Spring Orientation: Saturday, Feb. 3, 9 AM - 3 PM
    • Spring Inservice: Saturday, Mar. 3, 9 AM - 3 PM
    • Pre-Program Inservice: Wednesday, June 6 - Friday, June 8
    • Scholar-Parent Orientation: Saturday, June 9

Graduate Assistant

Scholars who have graduated from the DECATS program frequently return each summer to serve as Graduate Assistants. GAs work closely with mentors and Scholars to serve the community in a supportive role.

  • REQUIRED DATES Graduate Assistant applicants must commit to attend the following dates for DECATS 2018:
    • Summer Program: June 11 - 28
    • Pre-Program Inservice: Wednesday, June 6 - Friday, June 8
    • Scholar-Parent Orientation: Saturday, June 9

  • ONLINE APPLICATION  The Graduate Assistant application will be available on this page February 1. Applications are due February 15. Because spaces are in high demand, our opening and closing dates for applications are strict.

  • POSITION AVAILABILITY  Spaces in the Graduate Assistant Program are very limited. Approximately 15 positions will be filled at each site. The Program Directors will contact applicants after the application deadline. Because spaces are so limited, we do not actively recruit or advertise. Graduates who wish to be considered for a GA position must make note to return to this page during the application period.
